Privacy Policy for Pennywise

Hamza Awan (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Pennywise mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Data You Provide

Pennywise stores all your financial data (transactions, categories, amounts, dates, and descriptions) locally on your device using an SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

1.2 Advertising Data

If you are using the free (ad-supported) version of the App, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and process the following information:

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• IP address
• Device information (model, OS version)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

1.3 Purchase Data

If you purchase the “Remove Ads” upgrade, the transaction is processed through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store your payment information. Google handles all payment processing. See Google Play’s Terms of Service for details.

2. How We Use Information

• Financial data: Stored locally to provide the App’s core functionality (tracking expenses, income, and generating charts). We have no access to this data.
• Advertising data: Used by Google AdMob to serve relevant advertisements.
• Purchase data: Used solely to verify your premium (ad-free) status.

3. Data Storage and Security

All your financial data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate any servers or cloud infrastructure for this App. Your data’s security depends on the security of your device.

If you export your data to CSV, the exported file is saved to your device’s local storage. You are responsible for the security of exported files.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal financial data with any third parties.

Google AdMob (in the free version) may share anonymized advertising data with ad networks as described in their privacy policy.

5. Children’s Privacy

Pennywise is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Delete individual transactions: Swipe left on any transaction and tap Delete.
• Delete all data: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data permanently.
• Export your data: Use the Export feature to save your data as a CSV file before uninstalling.
• Remove ads: Purchase the “Remove Ads” upgrade to stop advertising data collection.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
